A Prayer-Cancer, Food and the Holidays

Heavenly Father,

You know how much food is part of the holidays and how much I love food.  But this year, cancer has robbed me of this joy.

There are times…

I can’t eat food.

I can’t prepare food.

I can’t smell food.

I can’t even think of food.

I need your protection this holiday season. Surround me with a blanket of protection from this negative impact of food.  Protect me from having awkward conversations, disrupted gatherings, hurting others feelings and general misunderstandings.  Provide me with your words so that those around me can comprehend my difficulties and be sensitive to my needs.

All these things I humbly place at your feet,

AMEN
