WHEN: Friday Nov 4th – Saturday, Nov 5th

Cancer Survivorship Retreat: Building a New Life with Fitness, Food and Faith


4:00pm-5:00pm Registration/Welcome Game (break music)

5:00-5:10 Retreat leader: Short welcome/intro of self/prayer. Retreat leader reads aloud Welcome to the Christian cancer Survivorship Retreat letter.  Then turnover to table leaders.

5:10-5:30 Small Group Introductions

5:30-6:15 Dinner in Cafeteria:            Retreat leader announces dinner in Auditorium and says grace. Everyone walks to cafeteria for dinner.  Sit with groups at dinner.  Intro’s can continue at dinner.

6:15- 6:45 Bible Study #1   “Life after cancer is meant to be overflowing!”

 Meet back in auditorium.  Retreat Leader begins break music to draw crowd in.

6:45 – 7:15 Side Effects After Cancer: Speaker 20-25 minutes.  Retreat leader introduces Side Effects After Cancer speaker.

 7:00-7:10 Break Music

7:10-8:30 Bible Study #2  “The cancer journey is not over on the last day of treatment.”

Break: 8:30-8:40pm  Retreat leader announces to take a break and ceremony will begin in 10 minutes at their table.  Asks them to write on slip of paper during break to prepare.  Break music

8:40-8:55pm  CEREMONY: Praying for more  Led by Table Leaders ceremony music

9:00-10:00 Dessert party in less formal setting for anyone interested in continuing to socialize.


8:00-8:30am  Breakfast in cafeteria: Break Music to bring them back into the auditorium for speaker.

8:30-9:20 Nutrition (presentation and small group intersections) Retreat leader introduces Nutrition After Cancer Speaker

9:20-9:30 break Break Music

9:30-10:45 Bible Study #3:  Picture cancer survivorship with less worry, more living. Includes craft.

10:45- 11:05 Break break music and make your own healthy snack!

11:05-12:00 Cancer Hero Testimonials Seeing Jesus in your post treatment

12:00- 12:45 Lunch in cafeteria  Break Music to bring them back into the auditorium.

1:00-2:15  Bible Study #4  Survivorship is the time to look past what you once were to become something you’ve never been.

2:15-2:30 Break  Break Music

2:30-3:20 Exercise class

3:20- 3:30 Break Break Music to bring them back into the auditorium.

3:30- 4:20 Bible Study #5 Your cancer journey is about more than surviving cancer… much more.

 4:20-4:30 Break  Retreat leader announces to go to Chapel after break for closing ceremony.  Asks them to write on slip of paper during break to prepare.  Break Music

4:30- 5:00 Closing Ceremony and Evaluations Ceremony Music
