Our mission is to train, equip and support caring individuals in churches to provide supportive environments to draw cancer family members closer to Christ. 1. Cancer Companions Event Planning Intern

Cancer Companions is launching their Take a Hike from Cancer: Cancer Prevention Walk. Our events planning intern will be in charge of organizing the event’s contests and overseeing project management.

Details:

  • Duration of internship: Feb1 – April 30
  • Hours: 4 Hours/week
  • Phone call with President 2x’s a month
  • Applicants can do work from home.
  • No compensation

Responsibilities:

  • Project management plan has already been completed. Your role is to send reminders to responsible parties of upcoming deadlines.
  • Write rules for walk contests and communicate these to CC’s staff and volunteers.
  • Organize effort to acquire prizes for contests.
  • Compile 8 e-newsletters from staff and volunteers.

Qualifications:

  • Extremely organized.
  • Able to work well with others.
  • Excited about the goals of the organization.

2. Social Media/ Blog writer for Non profit

Cancer Companions is launching their Take a Hike from Cancer: Cancer Prevention Walk. Our Social Media/Blog intern will perform interviews to write blog posts, edit other writer’s materials for blog and condense materials into social media posts.

Details:

  • Duration of internship: Feb1 – April 30
  • Hours: 4 Hours/week
  • Phone call with President 2x’s a month
  • Applicants can do work from home.
  • No compensation

Responsibilities:

  • Interview 8 cancer walk team captains and write eight 500 word or less blog posts.
  • Edit blog articles from President and Medical Advisory Board.
  • Condense blog articles into social media posts.
  • Organize photos and articles from blog authors for use in newsletter and social media.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Solid editing skills
  • Enjoys talking with people and learning about their stories.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Able to achieve deadlines.

3. Photographer Intern for non profit

Cancer Companions is launching their Take a Hike from Cancer: Cancer Prevention Walk. Our photography intern will create images to be used in e-newsletter, blog, social media and print materials.

Details:

  • Duration of internship: Feb1 – April 30
  • Hours: flexible
  • Phone call with President 2x’s a month
  • Applicants can do work from home.
  • No compensation

Responsibilities:

Provide artistic images to accompany article topics for the Take a Hike from Cancer E-newsletter and blog. 8 newsletters. Two images per e-newletter. Topics for images provided. Ideas for pictures will be brainstormed with the president but responsibility for choosing content falls on the intern.

Qualifications:

  • Photographic skills
  • Excellent eye for the creative, unusual, engaging image which expresses the larger topic.

Cancer has personally touched Karen's personal life through her dad - a 23 year colon cancer survivor.
