What if you and I did a cancer prayer challenge? Newsletter article

What if…

What if you and I did a cancer prayer challenge?

Let’s say that we agree to pray for cancer every day for 30 days. Do you think that would make a difference? Do you think it would make a difference in your life? In my life?

Do you think that it would make a difference in how we see cancer in the world?

In the way that we see cancer impact not just a body but a person who’s a son or a daughter or a father or a mother, or a friend.

Would it change the way we see cancer impact a family or a workplace or a school or a church?

What would it do to us- to who we are?

Does praying for cancer for 30 days give us new eyes?

Does it give us new thoughts to think, new lives to touch, new feelings to feel?

Does it take our faith and wash off the hesitancy to reach out, remove the temptation to ignore and destroy the avoidance to admit our fear.

What if..

What if you and I did a 30 day cancer prayer challenge because we believed that the BEST way to battle cancer was 1 prayer at a time.

Actually let’s say we believed this so much that we challenged our spouses, kids, teachers, coworkers, bosses, neighbors and team mates to do it too.  What would happen?

What would happen if the people we know and the people they know take 30 days to pray for cancer?

Would it change anything?

Would it change the way we talk or don’t talk to someone with cancer?

or the way we thought cancer was this one story but discover it’s endless stories.

Would we become more willing to ask about a biopsy? a scan? a treatment? a test or a procedure?

Would it remove the awkward or at least lessen it?

Would 30 days of cancer prayer change how a boss handles an employee’s workload or a teacher helps a child?

Would it turn neighbors into friends and friends into family?

Would it push family grievances aside and leave seeds of restoration?

What if? …

What if I challenged you to 30 days of cancer prayer? Would you do it?

Join me to battle cancer one prayer at a time.
