BOOK OF THE WEEK: Thunder and Rain by Charles Martin

Thunder and RainDo you know any guys that are not talkers.  There strong, they’re likeable and they’re even fun but too often you find yourself thinking “I wonder what they’re thinking.” Well author Charles Martin is so gifted at revealing the inner working of a man’s mind and more significantly, his heart.  In his latest book Thunder and Rain, Martin gives us third generation Texas Ranger Tyler Steele- a man with strong convictions, deep regrets and few words.

Thunder and Rain is not about the roller coaster emotions we women so clearly relate to- It’s about the constant pressure for a man to remain true to himself as well as constant for those he loves.  On the surface the journey to remain constant sounds mundane or even superficial but Martin shows us the depth of the struggle that so many men quietly endure.  The action is intense and the romance is subtle and honest. Martin delivers a novel that will keep you thinking about the characters, the plot and the men you know- “I wonder what they’re thinking?”
