BOOK REVIEW OF THE WEEK: Healing Promises by Amy Wallace

Amy Wallace has done an amazing job of revealing the intimate difficulties of the cancer journey in her book Healing PromisesHealing Promises is the second in  the Defenders of Hope series.  The series follows three FBI agents and their stuggles with pusuing justice and following God at the same time.  In Healing Promises, Clint Rollins is the physically and spiritually strong agent which faces the crisis of cancer and all that comes with it.  No one is as surprised as him at the strain on his marriage, his job and his faith.

Wallace shows the reader the way even a person of amazing faith can struggle with God when their live is turned upside down and their future is dark.

Of course there’s a suspensful plot with bad guys that’s well written and engaging, but for me, this book stands out from the portrayal of a Christian family battling the difficulites of cancer.  If you’re trying to understand what your loved ones with cancer are coping with, give this a read for a peek into the unspoken world of cancer.
