BOOK REVIEW OF THE WEEK: Zipporah, Wife of Moses by Marek Halter

Do you like novels based on Biblical people?  You’ll love Zipporah, Wife of Moses.  Marek Halter made the characters real and vulnerable, like me and you.  EVEN the mighty prophet Moses.  But the real treat was learning about Zipporah.  Until I read this book, I could not have even told you Moses wife’s name name and yet she and her father played pivotal roles in the story of Moses.

You come to realize how strange Moses must have seemed, a prince of Egypt becoming a sheep herder, husband, father.  And what of a sheep herder’s wife heading off to Egypt with her husband because a bush told him too?  That is just the beginning of Zipporah’s adventure with her husband.  It will leave you at times running to your Bible to see if it’s all true.  Guess what?  It is.
