Cancer Companions Ambassador Program Striving to Hit $10,000 Goal

We have MUCH reason to celebrate!  The Lord has brought a very generous donor who is providing $10,000 in  matching funds to the Cancer Companions Ambassador Program.  So far we have collected $8,400.  Will you help us hit our goal?

Ambassador Thermometer 2Here’s the idea behind the program.

The Cancer Companions ministry teaches volunteers to be peer counselors so they can lift up people impacted by cancer and draw them closer to Christ. In the 2 years since conception, we’ve trained almost 150 peer counselors in 5 states from 10 different denominations. How cool is that? To keep up with this amazing growth, we’ve designed a train the trainer program so that all the new churches interested in beginning a Cancer Companions program no longer have to wait for me, the only trainer, to come to town.

Here’s how you can partner with us. Although this train-the-trainer program is a great idea, it will require a capital investment to get it up and running. Segments of the current training which should be presented by an experienced counselor will need to be recorded, training materials will need to be developed and a weekend seminar will need to be organized. To jump start this new program and to cover a variety of administrative costs such as web site improvement, marketing costs and our Volunteer Coordinator position we humbly ask for you to prayerfully consider becoming a Cancer Companion Ambassador.

Every Ambassador will receive a quarterly e-newsletter with updates on the progress of the ministry as well as personal invitations to any special events. As always, we strive to be collaborative in developing this ministry so your thoughts and feedback are always appreciated.

About Karen Tripp

Beyond being a Christian Counselor and the President of Cancer Companions, Karen loves to read (she's a great reader) and loves to sing (she's a bad singer) in her home near St Louis, MO. Cancer has personally touched Karen's personal life through her dad - a 23 year colon cancer survivor. Impacting lives for Christ through her speaking, writing and counseling fills Karen with a passion which infuses every task she approaches. (except matching socks. Karen hates matching socks.)
