Parent and Child Collection: Breast Cancer Survivor Rita Clements and her Daughter Heidi

Rita Clements and Heidi2“This is a picture of me and my daughter, Heidi.  As a senior in High school she did everything from joking and laughing while I had a blood transfusion to going on an “adventure” in the hospital to find  snacks for us.  Heidi even scrubbed and gloved to empty my drains after a double mastectomy.

Heidi has always been the bright light of my life, but
during my cancer journey she shone even brighter.  I treasure everything about her.  Heidi is strong and  tenacious, yet sweet and adorable!  She is so precious to me – one of my best friends in this world! My last treatment was May 11, 2011 (my oldest daughter’s birthday!) and I have been cancer free ever since.”
