Prayer for Cancer Caregiver Frustration

Sweet Lord,

Some days being a caregiver is more than I can stand. As hard as I try to care for my loved one with cancer, too often I feel useless.  My day is filled with things I need to do, things I can’t do and things I wish I could do.  I wish I could remove this heinous cancer from them once and for evermore.  I wish I could give them an appetite.  I wish I could take their pain, their fatigue, their fear from them.  I wish I knew how to lift the heaviness of this cancer from their life.

I cannot do these things but you can.  I have nowhere to turn but you for you are all powerful and all merciful.  So I place these needs at your feet. I know you hunger to lift the burden from my loved one even more than I do.  So if it be you will, fix these burdens on my loved one’s cancer path.  In your loving arms I place my loved one.  AMEN

Job 42:2

“I know that you can do all things;
    no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
