Free educational programs, support groups, separate groups for bereaved and caregivers, education workshops, and mind-body activities such as: yoga, relaxation, & visualization. Also provides vouchers towards the cost of medical supplies directly related to a cancer diagnosis through their Staenberg Family Cancer Services program. Nutritional supplements, incontinence and ostomy supplies, lymphedema sleeves, wigs, and DME such as walkers, shower chairs, etc. are additionally available. Patient needs a referral from a social worker, nurse, or physician; form available online.

Illinois Department on Aging provision of case management services for senior citizens. Provides a comprehensive needs assessment and service coordination to assist older persons gain access to needed services.

Life Goes On Support Group
meets the third Monday 6p.m. for cancer patients and their families/friends. Contact Peggy Messick at 828/485-2300 ext. 6202.
Hearts of Hope Breast Cancer Support Group meets the last Tuesday of the month 7p.m. Contact Brenda Putnam at 828/485-2300 ext. 6210 .
Strides to Recovery
A 12-week wellness program for cancer patients that includes one-on-one exercise prescription, nutrition counseling, and relaxation techniques to assist cancer patients with regaining strength and stamina. Contact Tracy Glover at 828/326-3680.

A Cancer Information Center is located in the Radiation Oncology Center waiting room area. Wigs, turbans, and literature on different kinds of cancer, prevention, early detection and treatment options are located in this area.
All cancer support services at DePaul are open to anyone seeking information or support related to a cancer diagnosis, not only patients who receive their treatment at DePaul.
