Song of the Week: Alive Again by Matt Maher

It’s definitely springtime in St Louis and I feel the need for another “roll down the windows, feel the breeze in your hair and sing till your voice hurts” type of a song.  Matt Maher has provided beautifully with his son Alive Again.  I love the image of breathing in and out with the impact of how Jesus effects my life.  Too often I let a fear creep into my life and without even noticing, I’m too uptight to even take a deep breath.  Burying myself in prayer or scripture can release the tension until I can breathe in and out.  Nothing like the sweetness of Jesus in my life.

You called and you shouted
broke through my deafness
now I’m breathing in
and breathing out
I’m alive again!

You shattered my darkness
washed away my blindness
now I’m breathing in
and breathing out
I’m alive again!

Verse 2
Late have I loved you
you waited for me,
I searched for you…
what took me so long?

I was looking outside
as if love would ever want to hide
I’m finding I was wrong

GREAT VIDEO!  They took this wonderful song and fit it to scenes from the first Narnia movie.  Gotta watch this one!!
