SONG OF THE WEEK: Forgiven by Sanctus Real

Great song but I LOVE the video!  Sanctus Real is a young, dynamic Christian band which has a lot of heart and a lot of rock in their songs.  Forgiven is no exception.  We all have times that the stupid things we have done and said have played through our minds long after we have placed them at the feet of Christ.  Christ does not want us replaying our past in our heads when He has already washed our past clean.  This song knows what that place feels like:

Well the past is playing with my head
And failure knocks me down again
I’m reminded of the wrong
That I have said and done
And that devil just wont let me forget

In this life
I know what I’ve been
But here in your arms
I know what I am

I’m forgiven
I’m forgiven
And I don’t have to carry
The weight of who I’ve been
Cause I’m forgiven

In the video they beautifully capture that place our minds can be trapped with replaying our failures and shortcomings over and over again.  Christ died for our sins so we can be free from those tapes.  Free indeed.
