SONG OF THE WEEK: God Gave Me You by Dave Barnes

I love songs that combine godly love with romantic love.  I need reminders about the treasure my husband is in my life.  I didn’t do anything to deserve to be loved by him, he’s a gift from God.  But on days filled with the chaos we call life, that’s easy to forget.  Dave Barnes’ song God Gave Me You beautifully expresses the blessing God has given when you have a loved one in your life.

On my own I’m only
Half of what I could be
I can’t do without you
We are stitched together
And what love has tethered
I pray we never undo

Let’s face it.  Only God can make two become one.  Everything in us wants to be independent and seperate.  That calling in us to join together through the tough times comes from God.  What a relief!
