SONG OF THE WEEK: Hold Me Jesus by Rich Mullins

Some songs never get old.  Hold Me Jesus by Rich Mullins is one of those songs for me.  I was not into Christian music when Rich Mullins was writing his spirit filled songs but I have come to love his music.  As you can see with this song, he wrote with such truth.  Look at these lyrics:

So hold me Jesus, I’m shaking like a leaf
You have been King of my glory
Won’t You be my Prince of Peace
Surrender don’t come natural to me
I’d rather fight You for something I don’t really want
Than to take what You give that I need
And I’ve beat my head against so many walls
I’m falling down, I’m falling on my knees

I know what it feels like to be shaking like a leaf and only Jesus can take away the fear.  And as the lyrics say, it’s usually when I’ve told God “I’d rather fight You for something I don’t really want Than to take what You give that I need.”
