SONG OF THE WEEK: The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole

Some songs are great songs that can be sung by anyone with talent and turn out great.  But some songs people own.  As far as I am concerned, Nat King Cole owns The Christmas Song.  Maybe I think this because it was a favorite of mine growing up, maybe it’s because it fits his beautiful voice perfectly, I don’t know.    But I do know that when I hear anyone else sing it, it just doesn’t sound right.  In my land of fantasy, I think he and I make it a great duet.

I’ve attached the original video of Nat King Cole singing this song on good ole balck and white TV.  If you’ve never seen this clip, it’s worth a minute or two.
