SONG OF THE WEEK:Better Than a Hallelujah by Amy Grant

This song is classic Amy Grant.  Her sweet mellow voice so gently proclaims the truths about God that I need to keep center stage in my life. God loves my praises on Sundays but how he longs to hear me call out to Him.  And yet I too often hold back my yearning for God.  Look at all the ways Amy sees us reaching out to God:

God loves a lullaby
In a mother’s tears in the dead of night
Better than a Hallelujah sometimes

God loves the drunkard’s cry
The soldier’s plea not to let him die
Better than a Hallelujah sometimes

We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful, the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah
